Welcome to The Department of Applied Mechanics and Control
The Department of Applied Mechanics and Control was created in the end of 1941st year.
The detachment of Applied Mechanics Department from Department of Theoretical mechanics was coused by forming of self-depending courses "Theory of mechanisms", "Oscillation theory", "Gyroscopes theory" in theoretical mechanics.
Professor I.I. Artobolevskiy and professor B.V. Bulgakov became the creators of new department.
Look "History" for details.
The Department of Applied Mechanics and Control is one of the leading Russian scientific center in mechanics, control and estimation theory, robotics, ground based and aerospace navigation. The Department teaches mechanics, control and navigation, introducing the most recent results in the field. More than 100 students were graduated from the Department with a Ph.D. Degree in Mechanics and Control. The Department is closely connected with research Laboratory of Control and Navigation, Laboratory of Imitation and Modeling, Laboratory of Common Mechanics(Robotics). The staff of the Department was directly involved in the development of a range of inertial navigation systems, Moon-landing systems and space training systems. Theoretic results obtained of the Department have a stimulating influence in the progress of applied control in Russia.
