Innovative MSc educational program «Navigation and Control in space»

For 2008-2009 academic year we offer the following degree programs: Mechanics and Mathematical Modeling. Navigation and control in space (MSc).

Period of study: 2 years full time. Entry requirements: BSc Diploma in Applied Mathematics/ Mechanics / Engineering.

Training is according to your specialization and special programs. You will take part in work of special seminars and in research projects of your department under supervision of scientific adviser. After passing State examinations and defending Master's thesis you are awarded a MSc Degree.

We offer five Master's sub-programs of your choice as follows:

  • Inertial navigation systems and global positioning systems.
  • Airborne gravimetry.
  • Personal navigation.
  • Robotics and Mechatronics.
  • Artificial satellites.

Provided Competence

The program was developed to provide specialists of the highest qualifications for aerospace and navigation industries. The engineers developing navigation systems, personal navigation, autopilots were taken in mind. The program combines fundamental university education standards and industrial applications.

Since 2006 the subprogram in Inertial Navigation was read to the employees of several Russian aerospace enterprises specializing in navigation systems- Ramenskoe Instrument Making Design Company, Perm Instrument Making Company, Moscow Institute of Electronics and Automation. These companies are known as the instrument suppliers for the major aircraft production companies in Russia, which are used in MIG-29, SU-27, SU-30 aircrafts.

Our subprogram in airborne gravimetry teaches state-of-the art data processing technologies presently used in the airborne gravimeter GT1A, designed by Gravimetric Technologies Company (GT) and distributed by Canadian Micro Gravity Company (CMG). It was taught on the short course schedule to several geophysical research groups from all over the world.

Presently the MSc program is attended by students from Italy, Mexico, China, and Iran. We have a large group of students from Russian high-tech design and production centers.
